For the cardmakers!

This is an article I read in The Gazette a few days ago, and thought it a good idea to post it on my blog so that we, as cardmakers, do relate to this question.  We do take a lot of special care and time to make the cards we send out (or sell) and a kind word or comment is greatly appreciated..

Dear Annie: I send out handmade cards to friends and family for their birthdays, anniversaries, etc. It hurts my feelings when I take the time to make an individualized card and the person does not mention anything to me about it, not even …"Hey, I got your card!"
If I receive a card, I like to contact the person to say thank you and let them know how thoughtful it was. This is how I was raised.  Is there etiquette for this type of thing?

Dear Card Sender: The proper way to acknowledge a card is with a phone call or an e-mail. If you see someone to whom you have sent such a card, it is perfectly OK to ask whether it was received.
However, we believe the amount of time and effort that you put into your cards makes the lack of acknowledgement particularly hurtful. It might be worthwhile to scale back.

I do not agree with the last answer given by 'Annie',  Would love to read your comments!
